The New England Patriots kick off the Week 5 slate in the NFL on Thursday night, and they may be without their star tight end.

In Week 5 of the NFL schedule, the New England Patriots will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start the slate. For the Patriots, they may be without Rob Gronkowski, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Gronk is an absolute playmaker for the Pats on offense, and they may have trouble moving the ball without him in the lineup.

Marcus Mariota also injured his hamstring this past weekend, and there is no word as to whether he will be out there on Sunday. The signal-caller for the Titans was limited in practice on Wednesday and there is serious doubt he will be able to go. The team signed Brandon Weeden this week as insurance, so all signs are pointing to Mariota being out this week.

Staying with the AFC South, there is no timetable as to the return of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The franchise QB is coming off offseason shoulder surgery and just recently returned to practice. He will definitely not be in there this weekend, and the odds are it will be a while until he is back taking snaps in an NFL regular season game.

Cam Newton has been known to look like an idiot during his press conference, much like he showed after the Carolina Panthers’ loss in Super Bowl 50. On Wednesday, he went way beyond that nonsense, making a sexist statement to a female report asking about routes. You can look up the clip for yourself, as I will not indulge his ridiculous comments, but an apology has to be coming soon.

Finally, it looks like Josh Norman’s injuries are as bad as expected. We knew he fractured his ribs on Monday night, and the team was hoping he did not have internal damage. On Wednesday, it was revealed that he in fact does have a damaged lung, and there is no timetable for his return to the field.
