We’re getting ready to see the Philadelphia Eagles host the Arizona Cardinals. So which team will prevail in this contest?

A year ago, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first three games of the season and they looked like a team very much on the rise. Four weeks into 2017 and these Birds sport a 3-1 record. They also look like a vastly improved club capable of some big things down the road. Both sides of the ball are playing effective football.

Standing in the way of a 4-1 start are those pesky but unpredictable Arizona Cardinals. It’s been an erratic four games for Bruce Arians’ squad. But this is a team that has enough talent to put a scare into any team in the league.

Odds

Line: Eagles (-6.5)

Over/Under: 45

In this battle of Birds, the host Eagles are basically a touchdown and PAT favorite (courtesy of SportsBook Review) to make it three straight wins. Both of these teams have playmakers on the defensive side of the ball as well as special teams, so the over is a tempting play.

The Philadelphia Eagles have stubbed their toes just once this season that was in a hard-fought setback to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Pederson’s club has answered the bell to date and look like a team gaining in confidence. Meanwhile, it’s hard to tell what you’re going to get from the Cards on a weekly basis. Palmer has made them unpredictable when it comes to the offense. And the recent loss of outside linebacker Markus Golden doesn’t help matters. The wise move here is to go with the steadier ship.

Pick: Eagles 27, Cardinals 16
