In a battle of 3-1 NFC teams, the Carolina Panthers will head to the Motor City to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 5 on Sunday afternoon.

The Detroit Lions will head home in Week 5, after going into Minnesota and beating the Vikings on the road last weekend. The win moved the Lions to 3-1 on the young season and firmly planted them atop the NFC North. This weekend, they welcome the Carolina Panthers to Ford Field, in a game that should be exciting throughout.

Last weekend, the Panthers played their best game of the season, going into New England and beating the Patriots. Quarterback Cam Newton continues to get healthier, and the weapons the team brought in on offense are making the team more explosive in 2017. They went to the Super Bowl only two years ago, so a 3-1 start is not that surprising considering the amount of talent they have on their roster.

Heading into the 2017 NFL season, not many people predicted that these two teams would be 3-1 heading into Week 5. The Panthers are fresh off a huge victory against the New England Patriots on the road and are hoping to make it two in a row on Sunday. The Lions have proven to be tough at home, so this one has all the marking of a great NFC battle.
