We’re getting ready to check out a pair of winless teams in the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Giants. So who gets the victory in this match-up?

There was a three-game home stand in which the Los Angeles Chargers came up short against the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Hence Anthony Lynn’s club is still looking for its first win of 2017. In fact, the Bolts are currently riding a nine-game skid dating back to Week 13 of last season.

Anyone remember the last time the New York Giants won a football game? That would be the final Sunday of the 2016 campaign. Including last season’s embarrassing 38-13 playoff setback at Lambeau Field, Ben McAdoo’s club has dropped five games in a row.

It adds up as a battle of 0-4 teams featuring Philip Rivers and Eli Manning, a pair of quarterbacks from the NFL draft class of ’04.

Odds

Line: Giants (-4)

Over/Under: 44.5

Not surprisingly, McAdoo’s Giants are the favorite here to snap their five-game overall losing streak dating back to the ’16 NFC Wild Card Playoffs (according to SportsBook Review). But that 44.5 over/under is a bit tricky given the mistake-prone nature of both the Chargers and Giants this season.

Over the past two weeks, the New York Giants’ offensive unit has made its adjustments and it has paid off to a degree. Unfortunately, the defense is now having its issues and it’s resulted in a pair of heartbreaking losses on the final play of the game. We could see a similar scenario with the Giants again owning a late league and Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers moving down the field. But these Bolts have yet to figure out how to play closer, and a mishap could result in a comfortable win for Big Blue.

Pick: Giants 31, Chargers 17
