With plenty of coaches on the hot seat having the bye week, it’s time for others to step up and pick a win during Week 6 of the college football season.

The college football season is moving at a rapid pace as Week 6 arrives. Several teams have positioned themselves as contenders, while many others are on the verge of collapse. For the teams in the latter category, the hot seat exists for their coaches.

No coach has bit the dust yet, but someone is going to real soon as this is the time of the year when programs realize it’s time for a change. As each week passes by, teams get closer to not being bowl eligible or completely have the wheels fall off.

Some coaches might be safe because it is early in their tenure, but that’s up to the program to decide if they got that leash. That being said, those coaches still need to pick up wins. Here are five coaches that could use a win in Week 6.

5. Barry Odom

The job that Barry Odom has with the Missouri Tigers isn’t going to be an easy one. That’s life in the SEC East and his defense hasn’t made it easy on him. With three straight losses and plenty of critical SEC games coming up, Odom is going to need some wins.

He might fall under that category of being only in his second year, but that depends on the patience of the program. After a four-win season to start his tenure, the program was certainly hoping for more this year.

Trending downhill isn’t going to do himself any favors, especially when the school expects to compete for much larger things. Up next is a road contest against the Kentucky Wildcats as they try to pick up their first conference win on the season.
