Jack Jorgensen and Patrick Schmidt are back to make their expert predictions and make their picks for the five biggest college football games of Week 6.

It’s time to pick some winners for a handful of the biggest college football games of the week. Before we get into the fab five games we’ll pick for the weekend, let’s take a quick rewind back to last weekend to see how we fared with our picks.

Jack and I both went 3-2 as we successfully picked Clemson, Georgia and Auburn to win their games against Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Mississippi State, respectively. But we missed out on our upset pick of Duke over Miami as the Hurricanes looked really good in beating the Blue Devils. Then, in the second Friday night affair, we missed on USC who lost a tough one at Washington State to suffer their first loss of the season.

Overall Record: Schmidt 17-9, Jorgensen 13-12

Now, let’s look to Saturday’s biggest games, and we’ve picked one game from each of the Power Five conferences so fans of one particular conference won’t feel left out. All apologies to our fans from the Group of Five.

11. Washington State at Oregon – 8:00 p.m. EST – FOX

  • Schmidt: Washington State
  • Jorgensen: Washington State

13. Miami at Florida State – 3:30 p.m. EST – ESPN

  • Schmidt: Miami
  • Jorgensen: Miami

Michigan State at No. 7 Michigan – 7:30 p.m. EST – ABC

  • Schmidt: Michigan
  • Jorgensen: Michigan

No. 1 Alabama at Texas A&M – 7:15 p.m. EST – ESPN

  • Schmidt: Alabama
  • Jorgensen: Alabama

No. 23 West Virginia at No. 8 TCU – 3:30 p.m. EST – FSI

  • Schmidt: TCU
  • Jorgensen: TCU

There is no disagreements on this week’s fab five games. Oregon is without their starting quarterback, Justin Hebert, and running back Royce Freeman is questionable after suffering an injury last week. If they were both healthy, this would make for a classic potential upset with Washington State suffering a potential letdown after their emotional win over USC last week.

Miami has lost seven straight against Florida State but we think that streak comes to an end on Saturday with the Noles struggling mightily this year. It’s a great rivalry game, but look for The U to win this game and then get ready to hear plenty about ā€œThe U being backā€ and they may be much improved with Mark Richt as the head coach, but unless they’re competing for national championships, The U isn’t ā€œback.ā€ quite yet.

We don’t think ā€œlittle brotherā€ gets the upset win at the Big House in a rare night game at Michigan, but the Spartans could keep it closer than expected if quarterback John O’Korn struggles as he starts in place of Wilton Speight.

Johnny Manziel ain’t walkin’ through that door, so Texas A&M doesn’t stand a chance against Alabama.

The best game of the week is the Big 12 showdown between TCU and West Virginia from Fort Worth and College GameDay will be there. Expect a ton of points in this game and an aerial display of awesomeness with Will Grier and Kenny Hill having nice seasons so far. The team with the ball last could be the one to get the win.
