After a thrilling NL Wild Card victory over the Colorado Rockies, the Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the 2017 National League Division Series.
The Dodgers have had a few days off to relax and get ready to face off against the winner of the NL Wild Card Game. Fortunately, Los Angeles would be well prepared to face either winner since all three teams share a division. The Dodgers (104-58) have owned the NL West title the past five years but haven’t made it deep in the postseason.

Los Angeles might have the best record in baseball this season, but they haven’t fared as well against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona holds a 9-8 lead over the Dodgers this year and the Dodgers’ sluggish bats in September could allow the D-Backs to sneak in and take the series from their NL West rivals.
The Diamondbacks will have to face a rested Dodgers rotation, which could be the biggest challenge after Arizona ace Zack Greinke gave up 4 earned runs and 6 hits in only 3.2 innings in the Wild Card game on October 4. Manager Torey Lovullo had to play around with his rotation to get through the game, which could pose a challenge for the Diamondbacks. Clayton Kershaw (18-4) will take the mound for the Dodgers while Taijuan Walker (9-9, 3.49 ERA) gets the start for Arizona.
