Washington State Cougars

Jacob Eason + Mike Leach = ???

Certainly a fun thought, no? We have seen Wazzu trend upward lately, especially with Luke Falk under center these last two years. The Cougars rank within the Top 15 this year, and there’s a good chance those trends continue as long as Leach is there.

Falk will no longer be in Pullman following this season, so the QB position will be ripe for someone to take down the road. The Cougars do have plenty of options to choose from — whether it be Connor Neville, Anthony Gordon, Trey Tinsley, Tyler Hilinksi or John Bledsoe (Yes, the son of Drew). There’s also 2018 three-star Cammon Cooper, who figures to be trending upward as he heads into his senior season.

Adding Eason to the mix as a proven commodity for 2019 would certainly be an interesting and fascinating sight. He would be head-and-shoulders above all from a talent perspective. The question of fit would be in play, but again: Five-star QBs do not just grow on trees.

Pullman is roughly five hours away from Eason’s hometown of Lake Stevens, but the home state factor still comes into play. Thus, it would make for a fun choice for head coach Mike Leach if he chooses to go down that route.
