The Los Angeles Dodgers have been patiently waiting to start their postseason and finally get the chance on Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
After the Diamondbacks beat the Rockies in a wild affair on Wednesday night, their reward is to play the team with the best record in baseball. The Los Angeles Dodgers have had time off to freshen up and get ready for the best of 5 series. The Dodgers are looking to rebound after they stumbled a bit down the stretch. They were the first team in baseball history to both win AND lose 15 of 16 games in the same season. They have all the talent in the world to go all the way this season, even with the stiff test of division rival Arizona waiting for them.
5. Cody Bellinger
Arizona may boast one of the best first basemen in baseball, but the Dodgers have one that is a better power hitter. Bellinger hit three more homers than Paul Goldschmidt despite playing in 23 fewer games. When power hitters get hot, they tend to stay hot. Granted, Bellinger was part of the reason the Dodgers didn’t see the results they wanted at the end of the season. A few days off could do a world of good for the 22-year-old rookie and it wouldn’t be very surprising to see Bellinger come out and dominate with the long ball.
