We’re getting ready to see the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys to renew acquaintances. Which team will come away with a victory?
It’s a battle between a pair of defending divisional champions in the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. These days, Mike McCarthy’s club is tied atop the NFC North with the Detroit Lions. On the other hand, the ‘Boyz find themselves one game out of first place behind the surging Philadelphia Eagles.
Green Bay has had a little extra time to prepare for this playoff rematch. The Pack played last week on Thursday night against the Bears. But the team absorbed its share of injuries, most notably to running backs Ty Montgomery (ribs) and Jamaal Williams (knee). Will we see them against a mediocre Dallas defense on Sunday?
Meanwhile, Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott may have to come up with one of those 30-plus carry games if the Cowboys are to get back above the .500 mark.
Odds
Line: Cowboys (-1)
Over/Under: 52
Jason Garrett’s team is a slight favorite to avenge last season’s postseason heartbreaker, according to the general consensus by SportsBook Review. Given the state of both defensive units, surpassing that 52-point over/under is certainly a possibility.

Aaron Rodgers is primed for another big outing. And he may have to carry the load (again) if the ground game can’t answer the bell. Still, the Dallas Cowboys running game is overdue for a dominant performance. They will get one here, opening things up for the entire offense. And Garrett’s club will hold on for a narrow win. But these Green Bay Packers won’t go down without some late heroics.
Pick: Cowboys 30, Packers 28
