The Chicago Cubs jump out to a 1-0 lead in the 2017 NLDS over the Washington Nationals. Here’s what you need to know to watch Game 2 on TV and online.
The World Champion Chicago Cubs claimed Game 1 of the 2017 NLDS with a 3-0 shutout win over the Washington Nationals on October 6. The action continues with Game 2 on Saturday, October 7.
Game 1 was a study in pitching, with Chicago’s Kyle Hendricks and Washington’s Stephen Strasburg going scoreless through the 6th inning when Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo drove in 3 runs to put the Cubs on the board. Hendricks gave up two hits over seven scoreless innings while Strasburg was perfect through 5 ⅔ innings.

Saturday’s Game 2 will feature LHP Jon Lester (13-8, 4.33 ERA, 180K) on the mound for the Cubs and fellow lefty Gio Gonzalez (15-9, 2.96, 188K) starting for the Nationals. Lester has over 133 innings of postseason experience and two games against the Nationals in 2017 while Gonzalez only has one game against the Cubs in 2017. With Strasburg and Gonzalez taking the first two starts in the NLDS, Max Scherzer is getting some much-needed rest after tweaking his right hamstring.
The Nationals need to secure a win in Game 2 or else they will give the Cubs a big advantage in Game 3. Though Scherzer will be ready for Game 3, the Cubs’ pitching staff will have a much-needed day of rest.
