Here’s how you can watch tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live online.
Long the gold standard in comedic television, Saturday Night Live walks right on the line between loving parody and mockery. Depending on the subject in question, it will cross that line at times.
Saturday Night Live has never been reluctant to wade into the political mess either. One of their earliest skits involved mocking the Supreme Courts interest in citizens personal lives, and Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin from the 2008 presidential campaign is still iconic.
Many of the most popular skits this year have featured an ‘inside look’ at the current state of the White House. Alec Baldwin actually manages to parody Trump well. I wasn’t sure that would be possible, it is much more challenging to parody things that are already comedic.
This week, the show will be hosted by one of the breakout stars of 2017, Gal Gadot. Her Wonder Woman movie was widely praised, both by critics and by the audience. The character will next appear in Justice League, hitting theaters on Nov. 17th. While Wonder Woman is not renowned for her humor and wit like, say, Deadpool, hosting SNL will give Gadot a chance to show a more comedic side.
Also appearing on tonight’s episode of SNL is musical guest Sam Smith who will perform a pair of songs. Typically, those performances take place 30 and 60 minutes into the show so if you’re turning in just to see Smith, that’s when you can expect to see him on stage.
