Three teams have clearly separated themselves in the SEC. The middle of the conference isn’t getting better. Here are the weekly power rankings of the SEC.

This may not be the best season of SEC football we have seen, but now it appears that two other teams have emerged as worthy adversaries in the SEC to the Alabama Crimson Tide: the Auburn Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Alabama steamrolled its division rival in the Ole Miss Rebels in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, 66-3. Auburn handled the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs at home, 49-10. Georgia went on the road and shut out its SEC East rival in the Tennessee Volunteers, 41-0.

Clearly, these three teams have separated from the rest of the pack in the SEC. Alabama is still the clear front-runner to win the SEC and reach the College Football Playoff. However, the Crimson Tide do have potentially two formidable road blocks on the slate: Auburn in the Iron Bowl and possibly Georgia in the 2017 SEC Championship in Atlanta.

Here are the weekly power rankings in the SEC heading into Week 6.

Not even being on a bye can distract us from how bad this year’s Missouri Tigers team is. Missouri can’t even compete with Power 5 competition in its own building. Could the Tigers get an SEC win this year? Maybe, that doesn’t really feel possible.

Their best shots will be to sneak up on either the division rival Vanderbilt Commodores or the cross divisional rival Arkansas Razorbacks at season’s end. It would take a miracle for Mizzou to make it to a bowl this year with Kentucky, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee still on the slate.

Well, so much for the Ole Miss Rebels playing spoiler in the SEC West. After getting beat on the road in Berkeley by the California Golden Bears, Ole Miss got completely destroyed by their SEC West rival Crimson Tide, 66-3.

Ole Miss has eight more games left on its lost season. Could this team win a few SEC games this year? Maybe as many as three, but unless the Rebels beat the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, this team won’t get to .500. Even if they were bowl eligible, this team hasn’t shown a willingness to compete against the big boys in Power 5 college football.
