The Iowa State Cyclones shocked the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners on the road and Twitter blew up over the upset.
The biggest upset of the college football has season has just taken place. When it looked like very few teams could compete with the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners, they were done in by an unexpected foe. On Saturday, the Iowa State Cyclones marched into Norman and pulled off the impossible.
Winning by a score of 38-31, the Cyclones left everyone stunned by the huge upset that had just taken place. Oklahoma had gotten off to a great start with a 14-3 lead, but Iowa State didn’t quit and set themselves up for a big second half.
In the end, the Sooners dropped their first game on the year and certainly are going to take a dip down the standings now. It’s hard to imagine the team that went on the road to beat Ohio State would fall at home to Iowa State, but that’s the beauty of college football. As the Cyclones pulled off the upset, Twitter blew up with shocked users as one might expect.

Iowa State may not win many games and have a bad habit of losing to FCS Teams, but they sure know how to dash National Title hopes

Iowa State will do that to you.

Well, if there is one thing that this game did, it’s make the College Football Playoff outlook all the more interesting for both Oklahoma and Ohio State. Both of these teams now have a bit of an uncomfortable resume thanks to the upset loss.

For the Sooners, they now have to regroup and get ready for Texas. The Longhorns already took care of business against Iowa State and will have plenty of confidence as they try to make things worse for their rivals.
It’s hard to remain perfect in college football but this was a bad loss to say the very least for Oklahoma. How they respond next week will be a big indicator as to how their season will go from here.
