With the release of the Week 7 AP Top 25, which college football teams won and lost in the newest poll?
Raise your hand if you saw the wackiness that was Week 6 of the college football season? Now that zero people have their hands in the air, let’s take a look at the weekend that was.
Things kicked off on Thursday night as the NC State Wolfpack took care of the Louisville Cardinals at home and potentially ended Lamar Jackson’s quest for back-to-back Heismans. The Wolfpack proved they might just be for real and should be taken seriously in the ACC.
We had to wait over 24 hours after that contest to see the next ranked matchups. Saturday’s slate of games didn’t look elite, on paper, but the matchups were exciting once the games actually kicked off.
In fact, Penn State was on upset alert in Evanston for the first half against Northwestern before pulling away. Michigan fell to Michigan State in Ann Arbor in major upset fashion. Stanford hit the road to take on No. 20 Utah and effectively knocked the Utes out of the AP Top 25. Lastly, Oklahoma received a bigger challenge than it expected from Iowa State, ending in a loss.
The 2017 season isn’t disappointing quite yet and the newest AP rankings showed some interesting movement in the polls. Were there playoff hopes crushed in Week 6? It sure seems that way, but there are still two months to play, folks.
