How did the coaches on the hot seat in college football fare in Week 6?

The time for excuses is just about running out for some coaches in college football. With Week 6 in the books, it’s clear what each program is at this point and that means that the time to turn things around is rapidly coming to an end.

A harsh reality exists within college football and that is the fact that a coach will be axed soon and their tenure will be coming to an end. it’s the way the scene operates and it’s a matter of when and not if at this point.

It’s one of those rare years where there is a vast abundance of coaches on the hot seat and that means there should be plenty of vacancies. Five coaches with games this week entered with a tight leash. For all but one it was a horrible week. The one lucky coach can thank his lucky stars his team pulled out a big performance. Here are the winners and losers from Week 6.

Loser – Barry Odom

Barry Odom might not be on hot of a seat as some of the other coaches in college football, but his could certainly get warmer after this past week. Missouri continued their slide and fell to Kentucky on the road.

With four straight losses and only one win on the season, the slide could continue next week as well. Needing to show some progress after a poor year last year, Missouri really hasn’t done that this season.

Now, they have a battle ahead with Georgia on their hands. The Bulldogs have been one of the best teams in the nation and could be a real contender to win the conference this year. Odom will need the Tigers to have a gutsy performance next week.
