High-valued wide receivers
Given the depth of the position and PPR scoring of DraftKings, there is plenty of value to be had from the wide receiver position. For the sake of this article, a value will be any receiver outside of the top 20. Just like with the other positions, they will be ranked in my confidence in including them in my lineup.
Kenny Stills – Miami Dolphins ($3700): The Miami Dolphins feature a dominant pass catching duo in Jarvis Landry and up and coming DeVante Parker. Wide receiver Kenny Stills is often the forgotten man. However, in this week’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans he can have a big day. The Titans are the second friendliest fantasy defense to opposing wide receivers after a rough outing versus Houston a week ago. Adorree Jackson and Brice McCain will get tasked with stopping Adams and Stills while Landry deals with Logan Ryan in the slot. All three receivers could be in for a big day Sunday but Stills has that sleeper potential the other two highly priced receivers do not.
Cole Beasley – Dallas Cowboys ($4100): Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley was a crucial part of the offense a year ago. Quarterback Dak Prescott found him as a safety blanket especially on crucial third downs. This year teams are forcing Prescott away from Beasley, and the two are off to a slow start. The Cowboys have faced a tough defensive schedule with the Giants, Broncos, Cardinals and Rams. This week they face the weakest team of this young season, the Green Bay Packers. This would be the week to target the shift slot receiver Beasley. Even star receiver Dez Bryant should get a rankings boost against a banged up and weak Packers secondary.
John Brown – Arizona Cardinals ($5100): Speaking of weak and banged up secondaries, there may not be an easier matchups for wide receivers than the Philadelphia Eagles. This week the Eagles go up against the aerial attack of the Arizona Cardinals. One of the beneficiaries of this matchup should be the outside receivers for the Cardinals. Everyone knows that Larry Fitzgerald will put up numbers but fellow wide out John Brown is worth a flier for DraftKings at only $5100. Eagles corner Jalen Mills is being targeted the most out of any corner in the league. With Brown playing on the outside he should see plenty of Mills which props him up for a big day. Both Eagles corners are bottom ten in fantasy points against so it does not really matter where Brown lines up, he’s in for a big game.
