In a matchup of two AFC teams that are trending in the wrong direction, the Baltimore Ravens headed West to take on the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

The Oakland Raiders are playing without their starting quarterback and the offense looked as such on Sunday afternoon. E.J. Manuel got the start in place of Derek Carr, and while he made a few plays during the game, he just did not have the kind of touch you expect from Carr. The Raiders had their chances, but the offense sputtered and the defense could not get stops late.

Meanwhile, Baltimore got off to a fast start and it seemed to be 14-0 Ravens before you could blink. They controlled the game from there, winning a big AFC road game by a score of 30-17. Baltimore ran for nearly 150 yards as a team against the Raiders, and it was their big runs up the middle that sealed the game in the fourth quarter. Raiders were left hoping Carr gets back next week, as their offense does not have the firepower it needs without him.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Mike Wallace, Baltimore Ravens

Sure, he only had three catches in the game, but they proved to be the most important catches for the Ravens in this one. It seemed like every time the Ravens needed a big play, there was Wallace beating the Raiders secondary, leading Baltimore into Raiders territory. Joe Flacco finally decided to throw the ball down the field and it paid off on Sunday.

2. Baltimore Defensive Front

The Baltimore Ravens were able to get to E.J. Manuel when it counted, forcing him to make plays outside of the pocket. That led to many Raiders plays breaking down, putting them in tough third-down situations. They only sacked him a handful of times, but it was the constant pressure that really disrupted the passing game as whole.

3. Michael Crabtree, Oakland Raiders

Last season, Michael Crabtree scored three touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens, and he was pretty active in Week 5 as well. The veteran wide receiver hauled in six balls for 82 yards for the Raiders, scoring a touchdown in the process. He made big catch after big catch, and really stepped up when the rest of the offense decided to take the week off.

Betting Odds

Both the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens hit the skids in recent weeks and the Raiders came into this game holding a three-point advantage. Oakland failed to show on each side of the ball and definitely did not cover the spread.

The over/under was set at 39.0 points and that proved to be too low, as the Ravens put up nearly 30 points on their own. All lines can be seen throughout the week at Sportsbook Review.
