Odell Beckham, Jr. is injured and New York Giants fans have feelings
The New York Giants have no wide receivers and Giants Twitter is not coping well.
Sunday was not a good day for Giants fans. First, fans lost Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard to injuries early in their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Then, they went through the usual ringer of Odell Beckham, Jr. feelings — handwringing over fragile concepts of masculinity, rejoicing over a run, more handwringing over an end zone celebration — but it ended on a decidedly upsetting note. In the fourth quarter, Beckham bent his ankle and he was almost immediately carted off.
Early reports suggest Beckham, Jr. could be out for the season. And the Giants went on to lose the game. So, yeah, not a good day for Giants fans.
For the most part, Twitter seems to be sharing an appropriately morose and surprisingly mature response to the injury. For a player who can be such a lightning rod for opinion, prayers and well-wishes is the consensus among Giants fans and NFL Twitter at large.
Of course, there was one Very Bad Take, that is hopefully, but probably not, tongue-in-cheek:
The injury itself is also making the rounds, with Twitter Docs estimating he’ll be out for the season.
After the injury, the Giants gave up a touchdown to the Chargers before losing the game, putting their record at 0-5. Needless to say, the vibe on #GiantsPride got much worse.

Unfortunately, there’s not much, if anything, to suggest it’s going to get better. And injuries, in particular, are frustrating for fans — particular when they decimate an entire position.
