This week’s college football conference power rankings see the Big 12 fall hard after Oklahoma was upset and the SEC getting closer to reclaiming their crown as the top conference.

Week six in college football appeared to have a fairly light schedule heading in, but Saturday provided some of the most thrilling action of the season.

The College Football Playoff picture underwent a major shakeup after a pair of contenders lost to heavy underdogs. Oklahoma suffered one of the most shocking upsets in recent memory as a 31-point favorite at home to Iowa State, while Michigan’s offense couldn’t generate anything in a rain-drenched loss to Michigan State.

In the only matchup between a pair of ranked teams on Saturday, TCU added its to playoff resume with a hard-fought 31-24 victory over West Virginia in Fort Worth. Fellow contenders Washington State and Miami also picked up big road wins over solid teams in Oregon and Florida State respectively.

It wasn’t quite as easy for the clear-cut national title favorite, as Alabama turned in a sloppy performance in a 27-19 win over Texas A&M at Kyle Field. Clemson is quickly gaining on the Crimson Tide after yet another impressive win, while other elite teams like Penn State, Georgia and Washington all rolled to easy wins.

With four undefeated squads going down this weekend, the list of perfect teams was cut to 13, including just nine from the Power Five ranks. The Big 12 plummeted in the week seven conference power rankings with just one team seriously in the hunt for the playoff, while the Big Ten is losing its grip on the top spot.
