NFL quarterback rankings, Week 6: Alex Smith for MVP

Joe Montana Division
4. Alex Smith (Prev: 7)
After five weeks, Alex Smith is the NFL MVP. Smith is the only quarterback with double-digit touchdowns and zero interceptions (11-to-0). He is leading the league in completion percentage (76.6). Smith is pacing the NFL in YPA (8.80). The Chiefs are the only undefeated team in the league, and have the highest-scoring offense. It’s no contest right now, for Smith or his charges.
3. Drew Brees (Prev: 3)
Brees is well on his way to another 4,000-yard season as he works toward the all-time career mark for passing yardage. The Saints are actually in the mix as well after a pair of wins before their bye, and now host the Lions.
2. Aaron Rodgers (Prev: 2)
Rodgers continues to show why he’s the most athletically-gifted quarterback of all time. Against the Cowboys, Rodgers scrambled for a first down in the waning seconds before launching a game-winning touchdown pass to Davonte Adams. Simply incredible.
1. Tom Brady (Prev: 1)
Brady is 40 years old and leading the league in passing yardage with 1,702 to go with 11 touchdowns, trailing only Rodgers’ 13. New England has no defense, but it has Brady, and that’s more than enough to scare anybody.
