Here’s what to watch for when the No. 11 Auburn Tigers visit the LSU Tigers on Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.

The No. 11 Auburn Tigers will look to remain perfect in SEC play when they visit the LSU Tigers in an intriguing matchup between divisional rivals on Saturday afternoon.

For the third straight season, Auburn entered the fall with national title aspirations, only to lose 14-6 at Clemson in Week 2 thanks to an atrocious offensive performance. Gus Malzahn’s Tigers have been rolling since with four straight wins, including three consecutive blowout victories to begin SEC play.

After opening the season ranked No. 13, LSU has been one of the most disappointing teams in college football with a mark of 4-2, including ugly losses to Mississippi State and Troy that put head coach that put some pressure on head coach Ed Orgeron. The Bayou Bengals managed to rally with a nice road victory over Florida last week, the type of win that could spark a talented if underachieving team.

Plenty will be on the line Saturday afternoon, as Auburn is a New Year’s Six contender and the only team that appears capable of even remotely challenging Alabama in the SEC West. A LSU upset would completely turn around a season that looked dead just two weeks ago, while another home loss will lead to more calls for Orgeron’s dismissal, even against an elite team.

Many fans will remember last year’s classic Auburn victory in the final seconds that led to Les Miles’ firing and just maybe saved Malzahn’s job. If LSU can play to its full talent level for the second straight week, Saturday’s game promises to be another entertaining affair.
