The latest week of Big 12 football is over. How do the 10 conference teams stand for Week 7?

Week 6 of Big 12 play was hectic. It started with the fall of Oklahoma, as they lost to Iowa State, 38-31. This shook up the top of the conference and opened it for other teams, including TCU and their impressive win over West Virginia, 31-24.

Outside of them, Texas managed their third win of the season. They knocked off Kansas State, 40-34. Texas Tech also found success, as they crushed Kansas, 65-19.

How will these games impact placement in the latest edition of the Big 12 power rankings? Will there be a new No. 1, with Oklahoma no longer having a perfect record? Let’s take a look.

Baylor sat out Week 6, which may have been the best possible thing for this team. They started the season 0-5, including losses to UTSA and Liberty in the first two weeks. However, the Bears played Oklahoma tough, with a 49-41 loss in Week 4. They were even leading the Sooners at multiple points in the game.

Week 7 has the Bears playing No. 14 Oklahoma State on the road. It’s obstinate to think Matt Rhule’s team will stand a chance against a rested Cowboys offense, one that will light up the scoreboard. Look for this to potentially be a blowout in Stillwater, OK.

Kansas dropped their fourth consecutive game on Saturday, as Texas Tech blew them out, 65-19. All four games were losses by double-digits. That’s obviously an issue, as the offense hasn’t played great, but put up a respectable amount of points in most matchups.

Against the Red Raiders, the Jayhawks were crushed by over 600 yards on offense, 313 of which came on the ground on 52 attempts. Two quarterbacks also threw for touchdowns.

Kansas’ schedule won’t get easier, as they will face Iowa State on Saturday, the team that defeated the formerly unbeaten Oklahoma Sooners. The momentum the Cyclones are riding may create an issue for this game on Oct. 14.
