One of the biggest storylines during the season 2 premiere of Riverdale will be the mystery of who shot Fred Andrews. But if season 1 taught the audience anything, it is that there is sure to be a lot more going on in second season opener. Specifically, the groundwork will be laid for another big season 2 plot line, the growing tensions between the Southside Serpents and the rest of Riverdale.
Of course, this conflict will take its toll on Jughead, as he is the character stuck in between the two sides of Riverdale. In the finale, it looked like Jughead was siding with the Serpents. But Betty and all of his other friends remain on the north side of town. With that in mind, Jughead’s choices and actions will not be easy this season.
And they are sure to impact his relationship with Betty.
Also potentially causing a lot of new headaches for the town in season 2 is the arrival of the much talked about Hiram Lodge. He already was able to cause a lot of problems from behind bars. Now that he is out of prison, he will likely cause even more issues. Then there is Veronica who must suddenly sort out how she feels about her father after learning about the awful things Hiram has done.
