Devon Dotson and David Duke made their college choices this week.
Commitments continue to roll in on the college basketball recruiting trail, with one 5-star and a pair of 4-star prospects making their decisions this week. Here’s a look at who’s headed where.
5-star prospect Devon Dotson is headed to Kansas
Devon Dotson told Scout he had verbally committed to play for the Jayhawks on Friday. The 6-foot-2 point guard said his relationship with head coach Bill Self and the team’s need for a lead guard following Devonte’ Graham’s graduation were significant factors in his decision.
Dotson joins a pair of top 50 prospects, Silvio De Sousa and David McCormack, in the Jayhawks’ 2018 class, which now ranks No. 2 in the country, according to Scout. Kansas will also welcome a trio of transfers, including Dedric and K.J. Lawson and Charlie Moore, to its 2018-19 roster.
Guard David Duke commits to Providence
Friars head coach Ed Cooley has a history of molding point guards for the NBA, and he’ll get another chance after landing 4-star prospect David Duke on Friday evening. The 6-foot-3 Cushing Academy product announced his decision via Twitter:

— David Duke Jr (@daviddukejr) October 13, 2017
Duke chose Providence over Virginia Tech. He joins fellow top 50 recruit and AAU teammate A.J. Reeves as part of the Friars’ 2018 class. Duke is a Providence native who had been a major priority for Cooley and his staff in recent years.
4-star wing Jules Bernard commits to UCLA
The Compton Magic pipeline that has landed the Bruins commitments from the likes of TJ Leaf, Ike Anigbogu, Jaylen Hands and Jalen Hill in recent years doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Four-star wing Jules Bernard, another product of the program, committed to UCLA on Tuesday via the following video:
At 6-foot-6, Bernard can play either the 2 or the 3. He’s a good slasher who needs to improve his jumper, but he should be able to contribute in some capacity right away for the Bruins in 2018-19. Bernard joins 4-star guard David Singleton in UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class, which currently ranks 25th nationally, according to 247Sports.

Shooting guard Eric Ayala set to commit this weekend
Four-star prospect Eric Ayala will announced his college decision on Saturday. The 6-foot-5 guard out of IMG Academy in Florida is down to a final three of Maryland, Miami and Oregon. The Terrapins are viewed as the favorite to land Ayala.
FBI investigation hits USC recruiting
The FBI’s probe into college basketball recruiting has already taken a toll on recruiting at Louisville, and now it’s hit another program. Four-star power forward J’Raan Brooks announced he was re-opening his recruitment process “due to unforeseen circumstances stemming from the recent news.”
