Week 7 of the college football season has arrived. These five coaches on the hot seat need a win in the worst way this week.

The time for excuses will shortly be coming to an end. With Week 7 of the college football season having arrived, coaches will soon be out of jobs and programs will be going in a different direction moving forward. The hot seat only picks up from here.

Oregon State has gotten the jump on the process and they will be searching for their next head coach. This week, multiple coaches face situations where they need a win now or risk being out of a job.

Multiple games are going to have huge implications and there is a very real chance a program could make a move after this week. That means it’s up to each coach to go out and have their team produce. Here are five coaches on the hot seat in Week 7.

5. Mike Riley

If anyone could go for a job-saving miracle this week, it’s Mike Riley. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are in serious danger of dropping to a losing record and tacking on another loss in what has been a disappointing start.

Mike Riley knows he needs all the help he can get right now. Last week, the Cornhuskers let Wisconsin take the game on their own field. This week, they have another huge task with Ohio State in town.

The odds don’t favor them to begin with, but an upset here could go a long way in helping a head coach keep his job. If the Buckeyes do run all over them, then things could trend further south at the worst possible time.
