Hot Seat Watch, Week 7: 5 coaches who need to win

1. Butch Jones
In some inexplicable manner, Butch Jones didn’t end up getting fired during the bye week. After their shutout loss to Georgia and the end of their chances of winning their division in all likelihood, it was widely assumed he was done.
Instead, Jones was kept on board and that means until he’s out of a job, he’ll get to coach for it. His next test is a contest against South Carolina. Bret Bielema was in a similar spot going up against South Carolina and it ended with his team being blown out.
If Jones drops another conference game here, then Tennessee really has no choice. To make matters worse for him, it doesn’t get much easier after South Carolina one way or the other for his program.

Two straight road contests against Alabama and Kentucky are what lies ahead for the Volunteers after this week. The Crimson Tide could seemingly be the final nail in the coffin if he makes it to that game.
It’s crazy how fast things got to this point, but it’s not a complete shocker either. He managed to survive the bye week, so he has that going for him at least. The outlook still is about as bleak as it gets.
