The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon in Week 6. Here is a game preview, the betting odds and a final prediction.

We’ve got an outstanding ball game on our hands on Sunday afternoon in North Florida. Who knew that this game was going to be so enticing heading into Week 6? The game we’re referring to is the one between the Los Angeles Rams (3-2) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2).

Kickoff from EverBank Field in Jacksonville will be at 4:05 p.m. ET on Oct. 15. FOX will have the late afternoon telecast with Dick Stockton and Mark Schlereth to call the football game.

Los Angeles is 3-2 and in the mix in the NFC West. While the Rams lost last week to the division rival Seattle Seahawks, they are playing very well right now under new head coach Sean McVay. He is able to get good things out of second-year starting quarterback Jared Goff. The kid can play.

Jacksonville is also 3-2 but is alone atop the AFC South standings heading into Week 5. The Jaguars have throttled three teams already. Their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week in Heinz Field has the whole NFL talking about this dominating pass defense of Jacksonville. Doug Marrone has brought a no-nonsense culture to the locker room. Jalen Ramsey is becoming a superstar in the Jacksonville secondary.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Jacksonville -3
Moneylines: Jacksonville -140, Los Angeles +120
Over/Under: 42.5

According to SportsBook Review, the Jaguars will be laying three points at home to the visiting Rams. The associated moneylines for this game are Jacksonville -140 and Los Angeles +120. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 42.5 points.

Since Jacksonville is a defense-first team that struggles to throw the football with Blake Bortles at quarterback, let’s side with the slight under in this one. For one of the better games on the slate this week, this one will not disappoint.

It could be all tied up at 17 with the Rams marching down the field inside of two minutes. All it will take is a great swim move by Dante Fowler Jr. to force Goff to make a poor decision with the football. Waiting to pick-six the errant throw will be the Jaguars’ other outstanding cornerback in A.J. Bouye.

The Jaguars take it 24-27 thanks to a brilliant 75-yard pick-six by Bouye of Goff. Jacksonville improves to 4-2 and covers the three-point spread in the process. We will now have to seriously consider Jacksonville as the favorite to come out of the AFC South this year. Unbelievable.

Prediction: Jaguars 24, Rams 17
