The Syracuse Orange knocked off the No. 2 Clemson Tigers and Twitter exploded over the upset.

Another top college football program has fallen prey to an upset. This time the defending National Champions took their turn losing in upset fashion. On Friday night, the Clemson Tigers were looking to push their undefeated record further and get a win on the road against Syracuse.

Instead, the Tigers never held the lead once and they lost their quarterback to injury. That made the perfect recipe for the Orange to pull off the upset in front of their fans, as they put together one of the best performances in program history.

After Oklahoma lost over the weekend to Iowa State, this is yet another huge upset that is certainly going to shake up the rankings even further. Alabama will sit alone at the top but the two teams that were behind them have now fallen. After the loss Twitter, absolutely blew up over the upset.

As one can imagine, upset losses lead to plenty of exciting tweets. To have two upset losses of such a huge magnitude in consecutive weeks made it all the more insane and there’s no doubt college football fans’ heads are spinning right now. Add in the USC loss to Washington State the week before and upset season is upon us.

The best part is the weekend is just getting started and there are plenty of more chances for teams to go down as well. It also means there are plenty of chances for teams to jump up and take advantage of this opportunity.

Just leave it to Twitter to try and figure out who should be ranked near the top and why. It’s a discussion that’s going to be debated heavily now the rest of the way as these top teams continue to fall.
