Here’s how to watch Saturday’s matchup between the No. 21 Michigan State Spartans and Minnesota Golden Gophers online.

Fresh off of one of the most stunning upsets of the college football season, the No. 21 Michigan State Spartans will look to continue rolling when they visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday night.

One year after a tumultuous 3-9 campaign, the Spartans are once again a factor in the Big Ten East race at 4-1 and 21st in the AP Poll, with the only loss coming to a good Notre Dame team. Michigan State sent waves around the country by forcing five turnovers as part of a terrific defensive effort to beat rival Michigan 14-10 in a rain-soaked Big House on Saturday night.

Mark Dantonio’s normally stout defense fell off the table in 2016, but is much-improved this season with a lot of new starters, including an emerging star in sophomore linebacker Joe Bachie. Dual-threat redshirt sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke has also played well with nine touchdowns to two interceptions while leading the Spartans in rushing.

Minnesota made one of the offseason’s flashiest hires in former Western Michigan head coach P.J. Fleck, but has a long way to go before contending in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers have lost two straight to begin conference play after starting the season 3-0, including last Saturday’s disappointing 31-17 result at Purdue.

Fleck’s offense leans heavily on the ground game for now, as running backs Rodney Smith and Shannon Brooks have combined for 713 yards and seven scores on 173 carries. Minnesota is allowing just 17.2 points per game, albeit against a weak schedule, with linebacker Jonathan Celestin racking up 41 tackles.

Sportsbook Review lists the Spartans as a 3.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at a mere 40.5. That spread feels a little light given the recent form of both teams, but road favorites have not always fared well in the Big Ten this season.
