The Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals face off in the National League Division Series. Watch Game 1 of the 2017 NLDS on TV and online.
The Chicago Cubs head out West to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers are coming off of four full days of rest while the Cubs barely had a day off to prepare for the best of seven series. With the World Series title to defend, and after a hard-fought Game 5 against the Washington Nationals in the NLDS, the Cubs aren’t going down without a fight.
Los Angeles made quick work of National League West division rival Arizona Diamondbacks, defeating Arizona in three games of the NLDS. The Dodgers have the aforementioned four days of rest and a healthy rotation to work with, which will no doubt prove essential in claiming the NLCS. Los Angeles will have Clayton Kershaw on the mound for Game 1. Kershaw (LHP, 18-4, 2.31 ERA, 202 K) has been solid so far in the postseason, and having full rest will make him more readily available later in the series.

Chicago managed to pull off a thrilling 9-8 victory over the Nationals in Game 5 of the NLDS but it came at a high price as Joe Maddon had to go deep into his bullpen to stay alive. This will make his choices for starters a bit more difficult, especially considering that the team only had one day off between series. Though we don’t yet have a starter assigned for Game 1, we do know the Cubs know how to be scrappy when the time calls for it and this is one situation where they may have to get scrappy to keep up with the Dodgers.

Game 2 of the 2017 NLCS takes place on Sunday, October 15 at 7:30pm ET in Los Angeles. As of this writing the Cubs have not announced their starter for Game 2, but we already know that the Cubs will face off against Dodgers starter Rich Hill (RHP, 12-8, 3.32 ERA, 166K). All games in the 2017 NLCS will air on TBS.
