South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley showed his character with an act of sportsmanship after defeating Tennessee on Saturday.

When the final gun sounds, all football players regardless of jersey or rivalry are all brethren. At the end of the day, someone has to win and someone has to lose. When a team like Tennessee drops a tough one like they did on Saturday, it can be all the more difficult. Fortunately, there was a great moment courtesy of Jake Bentley after the game.

After South Carolina managed to hold on and Tennessee fell short, Bentley noticed that Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano was down on the field in need of consoling after the loss. The South Carolina quarterback immediately ran over and gave some words of wisdom to his counterpart.

The two embraced and Bentley would run back off the field. It was a reminder that even in the toughest of times for a program it is important for a player to keep their head up. Bentley wanted to show that same respect for the man that he went up against.
