Here’s how you can watch this weeks episode of Saturday Night Live online.
This weeks episode of Saturday Night Live will be hosted by Kumail Nanjiani and feature a musical performance from Pink. Nanjiani is a Pakistani-born actor best known (currently) for his role on Silicon Valley. He has also had guest roles on shows like Veep and Adventure Time.
It should not be surprising that most of Nanjiani’s roles have been in comedies because he has actually worked as a stand-up comic in the past. He also co-hosted the podcast called The Indoor Kids beginning in 2011 mainly with his wife. The podcast continues to this day.
This year Nanjiani starred in the romantic comedy movie The Big Sick. The movie was written by Nanjiani and his wife, Emily Gordon, about the beginning of their relationship and the medical condition Gordon suffered through.
At various points, over the past few years, Nanjiani has already worked with a few members of the Saturday Night Live cast, and memorable hosts. In 2015 he appeared on Inside Amy Schumer in a parody of 12 Angry Men, and in 2016 he was in an Old Navy commercial with several members of the Saturday Night Live cast: Jay Pharoah, Cecily Strong and Nasim Pedrad.
He has also worked as a voice actor, voicing characters such as Reggie for the Walking Dead: Season 2 video game and Mshak Moradi in the promotional material for Halo 5. These experiences and skills should stand Nanjiani in good stead on Saturday Night Live, where timing and improvisation are necessary for success.
