Aaron Rodgers broken collarbone: 5 fantasy replacements to save your season
3. Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans
I’m not sure there was any fantasy analyst higher on Mariota than I was all through the offseason. I looked at the addition of WR Eric Decker in free agency and the drafting of WR Corey Davis, pieced it together with a strong offensive line and a good run game and thought Mariota was poised to have a big season.
Fast forward to Week 6 and Mariota is just the QB18 on the season. That’s generally not the target you want to go after, especially while Mariota is coming off an injury. Other owners are going to know you lost Rodgers and are going to drive a hard bargain. It’s going to be pretty difficult for anyone to ask for a lot in return for Mariota. The passing game has struggled to this point and Mariota is a bit of a gamble. He also hasn’t been helped by his new weapons. Decker looks like a 30-year-old who is coming off major surgery. Davis has been on the shelf with a nagging injury. Still, Mariota was productive without those guys last year. He runs around a little bit and that helps his floor. As long as Mariota is healthy coming off an injury of his own, he could be a huge help down the stretch.
