A few teams had a very, very bad time in Week 6 and should probably enter witness protection to hide from the scorn.

No matter how good or bad teams are overall on the season through six weeks, judgment comes on a week-to-week basis. Even good teams have bad weeks, but they’re not immune to criticism simply because they’re a good team overall.

Bad teams have bad weeks too, which only compounds frustrations that fans have about why their team can’t win anything. This week we have a mixture of those two types of teams who should probably look into signing up for witness protection. It’s the only way they can avoid the scorn from fans following the bad week they turned in.

This is more of an honorable mention than an actual place on the ranking, but the Packers need to be talked about. The loss of Aaron Rodgers is going to be the central story of the week and rightfully so.

Losing Rodgers changes everything, and shifts the entire spectrum of the NFC. Unless Green Bay can coax Tony Romo out of retirement or finagle a trade for Eli Manning, it’s going to be hard to call them Super Bowl contenders with Brett Hundley. More importantly, this is going to be a critical stretch for Mike McCarthy. He’s always been blamed when things go wrong but is bailed out when Rodgers brings the team back with a winning streak. That’s not happening this time, as Rodgers broken shoulder isn’t strong enough to hold off the pressures that will be on McCarthy moving forward. The team might want to enter witness protection but McCarthy might have to if the Packers season goes off the rails.
