FanDuel NFL 2017: Week 6 lineup
Wide Receivers:
Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers-$9,200
Michael Crabtree, Oakland Raiders-$7,000
Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals-$6,600
The Steelers didn’t do much offensively last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, due mostly to Ben Roethlisberger’s five interceptions. Brown got his though, with 10 catches (on 19 targets) for 157 yards in the game.
The Kansas City Chiefs allowed a highly fluky five touchdowns to Houston Texans’ wide receivers in Week 5, which has skewed how generous they’ve been to the position in terms of fantasy points. But they did allow two touchdowns to the Washington Redskins’ receivers the previous week and seven of the 16 receptions they’ve allowed to wide receivers over the past two weeks have finished in the end zone.
In the regular season matchup against Kansas City last year, Brown had four catches for 64 yards with two touchdowns. Then in the playoff matchup, he tallied six receptions (on 11 targets) for 108 yards. Better offensive balance may be coming in Week 6, but Brown will still at least get close to double-digit targets with the expected production and a good chance at a touchdown.
Derek Carr is expected to return to action this week, but E.J. Manuel was not a drag on Crabtree last week against the Ravens. After missing the previous game with a chest injury, Crabtree had six receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown with Manuel starting under center.
The Los Angeles Chargers have allowed at least one touchdown to opposing wide receivers in all five of their games this season, including multiple touchdowns three times. In two games against them last year Crabtree had at total of nine catches for 107 yards (7.5 targets per game), but two of those grabs went for a touchdown. I like Crabtree as a stable FanDuel investment this week.
Since his 13-catch, 149-yard effort in Week 3, Fitzgerald has 10 catches for 83 yards over the last two games. A major bounce-back opportunity is coming in Week 6 though, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have allowed the most fantasy points per game (ESPN PPR scoring to wide receivers. That includes the second-most receptions (72), the tied for sixth-most targets (105) and the fifth-most yards (912) allowed to the position, despite having played just four games.
Sunday’s game in Arizona has major shootout potential. In line for a solid piece of Carson Palmer’s passing pie, Fitzgerald is one of the better FanDuel values out there this week.
