After a huge upset from Syracuse over Clemson on Friday night, Miami has brought some new life to the top of the ACC power rankings.

Finally, after weeks of Clemson dominating the ACC power rankings, there is a new number one on the list heading into Week 8 of the college football season.

After Syracuse pulled off the upset victory over Clemson on Friday night, the entire ACC seemed to be rejuvenated in Week 7. After all the dust cleared, Miami took over the top spot, as they moved to 5-0 to become the lone undefeated team in the conference after seven weeks of the year.

There was plenty of movement elsewhere after big wins from Boston College and Florida State, and this may go down as the craziest week in the entire ACC season once the year settles down in a few months. For now, here are the power rankings after an action-packed weekend in college football:

In an incredibly eventful week in the ACC, one thing remains exactly the same: the North Carolina Tar Heels are still the worst team in the conference.

Like I mentioned last week, I think I gave too much credit to the Tar Heels for their “fight” against some good teams towards the start of the season, as they’ve continued to go downhill as each game passes by in the 2017 season. It doesn’t look like any improvement is in the forecast for the rest of the fall after their loss to Virginia last weekend, so we may not see North Carolina moving from their post for the rest of the year.

The Pittsburgh Panthers pretty much wrap up the unexciting teams on this week’s power rankings, as their loss to NC State might have been the most predictable game of the entire week.

Most teams after this, with the exception of the 12th team on the list, are on the move this week, but North Carolina and Pittsburgh further established themselves as the bottom of the barrel in the ACC with their Week 7 performances. Pittsburgh doesn’t look like they’ll ever be worse than North Carolina, but they’ll find a way to make it worse now that I brought it up.
