Week 7 of the college football season is in the books but recruiting never stops. Let’s take a look at the updated recruiting rankings.

We are already into the eighth week of the college football season and it seems like just yesterday we were debating which teams should be in the preseason AP Top 25. It’s terrible how time flies when college football comes back.

Although the action on the field has been great this season, filled with upsets, there’s still action off the field in the recruiting landscape.

Let’s check out the 247Sports top 10 rankings after the seventh week of action:

  1. Ohio State: 18 commits
  2. Texas: 18 commits
  3. Miami: 19 commits
  4. Penn State: 22 commits
  5. Oregon: 23 commits
  6. Tennessee: 22 commits
  7. Florida State: 19 commits
  8. Florida:17 commits
  9. Notre Dame: 16 commits
  10. Oklahoma: 19 commits

As you can see, Miami jumped Penn State in this week’s 247Sports rankings and it’s likely due to the fact that the Nittany Lions lost a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Dorian Hardy. The Nittany Lions went from 23 commits to just 22.

Now, here’s a look at the ESPN rankings after Week 6:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Texas
  3. Penn State
  4. Miami
  5. Oregon
  6. Tennessee
  7. Florida State
  8. Florida
  9. Oklahoma
  10. UCLA: 23 commits

There weren’t many changes in this one, either, as the top 10 teams remained the same, but some of the order flip-flopped. In fact, Oregon jumped Tennessee at No. 5 thanks to a de-commitment from four-star running back Lyn-J Dixon. Also, Florida State and Florida switched spots, presumably a late move after the Seminoles added Houston Griffith last week.

There was more movement this week than in the past few, but both top 10 recruiting ranking teams remained the same. Tune in next week to see if a new team makes the list.
