NFL picks Dallas to host the 2018 NFL Draft
The NFL announced on Wednesday that Dallas, Texas will play host to the 2018 NFL Draft at AT&T Stadium.
Jerry World just got even more attention. While other cities like Atlanta, Canton, Chicago, Denver, Green Bay, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh all applied to be the host of the 2018 NFL draft, Dallas was announced the winner on Wednesday.
After months of not knowing who would host the draft, and speculation that Dallas would be the favorite, our questions were answered.
It will be the first time ever that the NFL draft has been inside a stadium and will run from April 26-28.
The NFL draft used to be in New York City, but since 2015 the NFL has been on the road with the draft, having Chicago host it in back to back years in 2015 and 2016, and Philadelphia hosting it in 2017.
“Philadelphia raised the bar by taking the Draft to another level, and this new opportunity in Dallas will enable us to continue the event’s evolution and grow it even further. We are grateful to the Dallas Cowboys, the cities of Arlington, Dallas, and Frisco, and the Dallas Sports Commission for their leadership in turning this vision into reality,” Goodell said in a release.
Philadelphia did a fantastic job hosting the draft in 2017, despite beliefs that it would be too much for the city, and it even broke the attendance record for the NFL draft. With the success it had in 2017, odds were in favor of it returning in 2018, but Dallas stole it from their division rival.

With Philadelphia breaking the record for having the biggest attendance for the NFL draft, you know that Jerry Jones couldn’t have his division rival look good. What better way than offering to host the 2018 NFL draft than offering it in your own stadium, where the record could be broken.
