2018 NFL Mock Draft: 49ers get their franchise quarterback
By Brad Weiss

Calvin Ridley
Wide Receiver, Alabama

The Baltimore Ravens took a step back in Week 6, as they could not capitalize on their big win on the road against the Oakland Raiders the week before. The Ravens blew an early lead to the Chicago Bears this past weekend and then saw a rookie quarterback beat them in overtime. They just do not have enough firepower on offense, and that showed when Jeremy Maclin could not go against the Bears.
In order to give themselves more depth at the wide receiver position, the Ravens should use their first round pick on a wideout. Calvin Ridley of Alabama is arguably the best wide receiver in this draft class, and he has played in some big games throughout his career. With the Ravens, he would be in more of a pass-first offense, giving him the opportunity to show off his talents.
With Alabama, he is subject to playing in a rushing offense, and his quarterback, Jalen Hurts, hardly ever tries to make throws downfield. With Baltimore, he will be with a quarterback who loves to air it out, as Joe Flacco has one of the best arms in the league. Baltimore has enough talent to challenge in the AFC North, and one better playmaker could be the difference they need on the offensive side of the ball.
