The Arizona Cardinals turned back the clock on Sunday, and it really took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by surprise. Earlier in the week, the team traded for running back Adrian Peterson, who looked like a shell of himself with the New Orleans Saints. Instead of seeing his career drift away in the desert, Peterson looked like his former Pro Bowl self, rushing for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in the teamās win.
Despite the win, the season has not gone to plan, and they will need to string together some wins if they hope to get back in the mix in the NFC West. With their first-round pick in April, they should look to add some depth to the offensive line, and Connor Williams from Texas is as good as they come in this draft class. Williams has the talent to stay on the left side at the next level, and if Carson Palmer comes back, he is going to need all the protection he can get.
The Cardinals do need to find an answer for what they are going to do when Palmer retires, but they could snag a quarterback in the second round. There are a bunch of signal-callers in this draft that could fall to the second round, including Luke Falk from Washington State. This Cardinals team is built to win now, so it would not surprise anybody if they made a run and plucked the division from the likes of the Los Angeles Rams or Seattle Seahawks.
