The Philadelphia 76ers open their season on Oct. 18 with a road game against the Washington Wizards. Here is how to watch online.
The Philadelphia 76ers enter the 2017-18 season with real expectations. Fans have been trusting “the process” and will now find out if winning is the reward for their enduring trust. On Oct. 18, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons will finally share the floor in a regular season NBA game. Markelle Fultz, the first overall pick in the 2017 draft, will join them in the starting lineup. So, let’s see hoe this talented young trio marks the start of a new era in Philadelphia.
The Washington Wizards enter the season with no such hype. Nonetheless, the Wizards are a proven team with proven talent. John Wall is coming off the best season of his career in which he put up 23.1 points and 10.7 assists per game. Additionally, Bradley Beal also had his best season as a pro in 2016-17. Wall and Beal lead a Wizards team looking to continue ascending the pecking order in the Eastern Conference. There should be a good amount of intrigue surrounding this contest between teams with bright futures.
The 76ers went 2-1 versus the Wizards a season ago, despite not having Embiid or Simmons in the lineup for those games. Consequently, Washington was one of only three teams to have a lose the regular season series against Philadelphia. Due to the hype surrounding the 76ers, one can bet the Wizards will look to set the tone for this season’s series. The Wizards will host the 76ers at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC on Wednesday night.
The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. The available live streams will be provided by ESPN and Fubo TV.
