The Milwaukee Bucks (0-0) open their season against the Boston Celtics (0-1), who try to bounce back after losing Gordon Hayward.
This wasn’t how the NBA season was supposed to start. But Hayward’s gruesome injury reminded us of how fragile sports can be. Here’s to hoping he not only makes a full recovery, but that it’s speedy and without any career-threatening consequences.
As for the game on the court, tip-off is at 8 p.m. E.T. on the NBSB and FSWI. Futher broadcast information is below. We get the opening to another season of Giannis Antetokounmpo. From here on, every Greek Freak season will come with wonderment — has he finally added a jumpshot, the final piece in his ascension to the best player in the league, when LeBron James hands over that mantle. Kevin Durant said Greek Freak could be the best player ever. He’s that good.
The issues for the Celtics are they will be without Hayward and will have to battle a team whose average age for their starting five is 23-years-old while on a back-to-back. The Celtics showed incredible grit on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. No one would’ve upset if they rolled over after the injury, desperate to just get out of Quicken Loans Arena with the rest of their team intact and a chance to reset. We’ll see how they bounce back on Wednesday.

The Sports Book Review has the Bucks as a three-point underdog. Under normal circumstances, that line would be higher in favor of the home team. But the Celtics are playing their second game in two nights and are without arguably their best player.
