The Memphis Grizzlies will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. Here is how to watch this Southwest Division rivalry game online.
The NBA is back this week, so everybody get excited about that. Many of the NBA’s teams will be making their regular season debuts on Wednesday night. Two of those teams will be a pair of Southwest Division rivals in the New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Tipoff from the FedEx Forum in Memphis will be at 8:00 p.m. ET on Oct. 18. FOX Sports New Orleans will have the Pelicans telecast in the Greater New Orleans area. FOX Sports Southeast will carry the Grizzlies telecast in the Greater Memphis area. The available live streams can be found on NBA League Pass and on FuboTV.
Both of these teams are competing for only a handful of available playoff spots in the Western Conference. Memphis made them last year, but the Grit N’ Grind era has come to an end in Southwestern Tennessee. The Grizzlies need a big year out of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and Chandler Parsons to get a top-eight seed.
New Orleans is in a huge make-or-break year. The Pelicans will give it another shot with DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis in the starting backcourt. New Orleans has also re-signed point guard Jrue Holiday and brought in Rajon Rondo into the mix.
Who knows how this season will shake out on the hardwood in the Big Easy this winter? New Orleans has a ton on the line this year to get it done and make it back into the Western Conference playoffs.

New Orleans might have a tad more firepower than Memphis, but this game will be in the Grindhouse for the Grizzlies. For that reason, the Grizzlies should have the slight edge in this game. It should be a low-scoring affair centered around the great big men playing in this game. Point guard play should be sound with Conley, Holiday and Rondo in it. Perhaps this rivalry series will determine who makes the playoffs in the West and who does not?
