Champions League power rankings after matchweek 3, including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

Real Madrid take a fall in the latest Champions League power rankings. The holders couldn’t beat Tottenham Hotspur at home in the third week of group-stage matches.

Yet while Los Blancos tumbled, Paris Saint-Germain continued to impress. Les Parisiens are in firm control of Group B after a third emphatic win a row.

It’s a similar story for Manchester City, who comfortably top a tricky Group F.

Here are the top 16 teams after the third matchweek:

16. RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig edged into second place in Group G after narrowly beating Porto at home. The Bundesliga club won 3-2 at the RB Arena on Tuesday, with playmaker Emil Forsberg typically at the heart of everything.

Forsberg scored Leipzig’s second and ran the show with some artful passing and intelligent movement. The East German club is built around Forsberg’s creative talents but still faces a struggle sealing qualification.

15. Roma

Roma’s 3-3 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was one of the more impressive results this week. But the Serie A side is still only on five points in Group C.

What the stalemate proved, though, is how Roma, not Atletico Madrid, are the toughest competition for Chelsea. Ironically, two Premier League old boys punished last season’s English champions on Wednesday.

Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko accounted for all three of Roma’s goals. The latter’s brace actually put the Italians ahead 3-2.

Dzeko scored a sumptuous volley, before crashing in a bullet header. It means the former Manchester City striker finally has his groove back in this competition, per WhoScored.com:

Dzeko and Kolarov lead a capable side loaded with experience. This savvy group now looks primed to make it through ahead of 2016 finalists Atleti.
