The Memphis Tigers travel to Houston to take on the Cougars in AAC West action, and here’s the information on how to watch online.
An important game in the AAC West race is set to kick off Thursday as the No. 25 Memphis Tigers travel to take on the Houston Cougars. The two teams are coming off very different results, with Memphis re-entering the Top 25 after beating a ranked Navy squad 30-27 a week ago. The Tigers have now won two straight games and improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play after beating the Midshipmen.
The Cougars fell to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in AAC play after an upset loss at the hands of Tulsa. A heavy favorite to beat the Golden Hurricane, Houston was blown out 45-17 on the road. It was the third straight start for senior quarterback Kyle Postma, who took over for the Cougars after head coach Major Applewhite benched Texas A&M transfer Kyle Allen in Week 3. Potsma has completed 65.5 percent o his passes for 805 yards and four touchdowns with five interceptions in five games.
Memphis has its own SEC transfer in former Tennessee QB Riley Ferguson. The senior has completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 1,814 yards, 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. Despite the edge in quarterback play, and last week’s differing results, the Tigers enter the games as a three-point underdog at most sportsbooks.
