Jason and Rich explore dynasty survivors — the last player from a dynasty to remain with the team — on the latest episode of the Over and Back Classic NBA Podcast.

From Gail Goodrich and Don Cheney to Randy Brown and Robert Parish, we look at each major pre and post expansion dynasty and who hung on through the final days of the dynasty. We examine how long the player remained with the franchise, why he was the last left and fun facts along the way.

Players, teams and topics discussed include Vern Mikkelsen and the early Minneapolis Lakers dynasty, Robert Parish and the 1980s Boston Celtics, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe’s potential point-shaving, Greg Ballard and the late 1970s Washington Bullets, Maurice Cheeks and the 1983 NBA champion Philadelphia 76ers, the surprising dynasty survivor of the 1980s Lakers dynasty, Tim Bassett’s swanky Manhattan spy bar, Gail Goodrich’s incredible nickname, remaking the Indiana Pacers in Memphis and much more.

We also dive into more modern dynasties such as the current Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors and wonder if LeBron James, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green or a random addition will ultimately emerge as their respective dynasty’s survivor.
