Bengals at Steelers: Preview, prediction, odds and pick

KANSAS CITY, MO - OCTOBER 15: Running back Le'Veon Bell

After knocking off the Chiefs last week, the Steelers will hope to gain more ground in the AFC North against the Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

The Pittsburgh Steelers looked as if they were falling apart a few weeks ago, but they were rejuvenated with a huge win in Week 6 and are looking to keep it up at home against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The Steelers became the first team in the 2017 season to take down the Kansas City Chiefs, as they survived a battle on the road to give the previously undefeated Chiefs their first digit in the loss column this year. It was a huge improvement from the embarrassing defeat the week before against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home and showed that the Steelers will still contend in the AFC.

On the other end of the AFC North spectrum, the Bengals sit at 2-3 and in third place in the division coming out of their bye week. A win over the Steelers would be huge for them in the divisional race and would help to dig them out of the hole that they’re currently digging towards the bottom of the AFC North totem pole.

Odds: Steelers -5.5, according to Sportsbook Review

This game has the potential to go either way on the spectrum, as it could either be a close, hard-fought battle or an absolute blowout courtesy of the Steelers at home. Things are starting to click for Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell, they’re starting to get some lucky bounces and they could turn into a dangerous team week in and week out.

I believe this game stays close like the odds say it might, but think the Steelers pull out the close win at home and build a bigger lead atop the AFC North on their way to contending for a top two seed in the conference.

Prediction: Steelers 23, Bengals 20
