The Texas Tech Red Raiders play host to Iowa State in a Big 12 Conference with bowl game implications, and we have the information for how to watch online.
Iowa State shocked the college football world by beating Oklahoma in Norman earlier this month. However, the Cyclones have actually looked like a bowl team (and even a fringe-y Top 25 squad) throughout Matt Campbell’s second season on the sidelines.
Even with uncertainty at quarterback, the Iowa State offense has produced a solid 400.5 yards of total offense per game and 5.88 yards per play. Quarterback Kyle Kempt has put up solid numbers in his first two career starts, throwing for 465 yards with four touchdowns combined, without an interception, in between the win over the Sooners and last week’s impressive 45-0 victory over Kansas. Kempt’s success helped the Cyclones improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
Texas Tech has already spent time in the Top 25, and comes in with a 4-2 overall record. The Red Raiders, who dropped out of the polls after failing to protect an 18-point halftime lead in a 46-35 loss to West Virginia last Saturday, are 1-2 in the conference.

As usual, Tech excels offensively. Quarterback Nic Simonek has completed 70.1 percent of his passes for 2,134 yards, and has thrown 18 touchdowns and four interceptions in his first season as starter. However, the Red Raiders have also shown improvement on the defensive side of the football, and have come up with several big plays on defense. In six games, Texas Tech has forced 15 takeaways and 12 sacks. The defensive improvement is a major reason Tech enters as a 7-point favorite at most sports books. Of course, the Cyclones have shown themselves capable of winning important Big 12 road games this season. Former starting quarterback Joel Lanning, who starts at linebacker and occasionally lines up at QB, leads a defense that ranks second in the Big 12 in total defense (356.2 yards allowed per game).
