The Florida State Seminoles suffered a tough loss on Saturday afternoon, leading to a verbal altercation between head coach Jimbo Fisher and a fan.

It’s been an incredibly disappointing year for the Florida State Seminoles, leading to plenty of frustration in Tallahassee.

After entering the season as one of the national title favorites, Florida State dropped its opener to Alabama and lost starting quarterback Deondre Francois for the year with a knee injury. The Seminoles have been sputtering ever since with losses to North Carolina State and rival Miami for one of their worst starts to any season since before Bobby Bowden transformed the program decades ago.

Things got worse on Saturday, as Florida State dropped a 31-28 heartbreaker at home against Louisville to move to 2-4 on the season. Florida State appeared to be heading in for a game-winning touchdown until James Blackman fumbled on the Louisville 21-yard line, and the Cardinals marched right back down the field to win on Blaton Creque’s 34-yard field goal.

Naturally, that led to some general unhappiness at Doak Campbell Stadium, and one fan politely suggested that the Seminoles “get new coaches.” Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher was ready to go with a retort, via Garry Smits of Times-Union Media.

There’s been no word on if the fan did in fact walk down to the field and say it to Fisher’s face.

As awful as the 2017 season has been, no Florida State fan in their right mind wants Fisher dismissed. However, there could be some changes elsewhere on the Seminoles coaching staff, as defensive coordinator Charles Kelly should be doing much better with a defense loaded with NFL-caliber talent.

If the Seminoles lose at Boston College on Friday night, the unhappy fan might just get his wish.
